fabrice lengronne
Composer, sound artist, writer and teacher, I reside in Montevideo, Uruguay, since 1994.
My composing labor is centered on exploitation of sound continuum, rhythmic complexity, transformation of timbre,
spatializing of sound and sound poetry, in instrumental, vocal, electroacoustic and algorithmic works. The important
technological use in my work comes from my necessity of extending expressive means of music, particularly when
allowing me to overflow the human physical limits.
As a teacher, I worked at the Facultad de Comunicación y
Diseño of the Universidad Ort del Uruguay, as well as at the
Centro Nacional de Documentación Musical Lauro Ayestarán (CDM),
dependant of the Ministerio de Educación y Cultura,
and I work at the moment at the Escuela Universitaria
de Música (EUM) of the Universidad de la República,
autonomous public university of Uruguay.
In my teaching domains, the Experimental sound art workshop I animate with Sculptor Lukas Kühne,
has a central place. This workshop provides the Taller experimental Forma y Sonido
and organizes the International sound art festival Monteaudio (see
www.formaysonido.org)
.
My research work is centered on organology and musical theory, particularly with the project
Diseño y construcción de cuatro guitarras de afinación microinterválica
(Design and building of four guitars of micro-intervallic tuning) of the EUM.
