Random sound poem nr. 2: Rivage ravage (2016-2017)
computer with Pure Data and stereo sound system, 5’
Translation of the title: Shore ravage
The series of Random sound poems
will include about a dozen pieces, in process of production, some in electroacoustic form, others uniting technology and performance.
The sound poem is generated in the moment of its diffusion based on an algorithm and random functions. As a consequence,
there cannot exist two identical versions of a same piece. What will characterize each one will be the process of entering and getting out of the different
voices, their overlapping, as well as the vocal sound repertory of the piece, composed of words or sounds selected and distributed with intervention of chance.
The essence of these pieces resides in its ephemere character, always renewed.
The recordings of these pieces are only fragmentary.
Rivage ravage, second of the Random sound
poems series, is built from a collection of words all ending on variants of the final syllables of the title.
This collection is read at random, forming and deforming pieces of sentences. Several voices at a time, synchronized: random poetic parallel organum.
The work can use my own recording of the collection of words, or that of an interpreter.
